A bill of quantities (BoQ) is a structured procurement document that lists every item, material, or service required for a project, with specified quantities, units of measure, and technical descriptions. Buyers — typically main contractors or project owners — send a BoQ to potential suppliers, who price each line item and return the completed document as a quotation. In German-speaking markets, the equivalent is Leistungsverzeichnis (LV), and the standard electronic format is GAEB DA XML.
